Comparison Study of Color Words on the Cognitive and Semantical Aspects in Russian and Chinese

Abstract
The article discusses the features of basic color definitions in Chinese and Russian languages. The relevance of this work is due to the insufficient illumination in such studies. Its purpose is to highlight the similarities and differences in the semantics of color meanings between Chinese and Russion languages. Color categories are an important aspect of human cognition, and color words, as a specific concept, not only refer to the prototypical meaning of color words, but also contain their metaphorical meanings. Metaphorical meaning is derived from metaphorical or metonymic cognitive models on the basis of prototypical meaning. The non-prototypical meanings of color words are conceptualized and fixed in the languages of various ethnic groups, and these non-prototypical meanings are important aspects of the uniqueness of national culture. In Russian and Chinese languages, even if two color words with the same prototypical meaning, due to the influence of translinguistic factors such as national culture, religion, and geographical environment, their metaphorical or metonymic ways of thinking are different, which in turn leads to different metaphorical meanings.
