Abstract

The article contributes to the development of the theory and practice of moral education, expanding scientific ideas about the technological level of foreign language education as a basis for the implementation of its moral education component. The article substantiates the urgent need for the shaping of socially and personally significant axiological attitudes of young people, which, in the realm of science, is transformed into a relevant problem of finding ways to achieve this goal in the educational process. The authors of the article analyze the practical research project (PRP) and consider it as a means to shape students' axiological attitudes within the framework of studying the academic subject "Foreign language". To create a more complete picture of the PRP, the article provides information about the founders of the project and its original application areas, as well as a brief overview of the attempts to use this technology for various educational purposes. The authors identify the stages of PRP in a foreign language class, ensuring that shaping of students' axiological attitudes is the major target. Special attention is paid to the issue of selecting aspects of reality for the formulation of PRP problematic issues. The article presents key principles underlying the selection of this material. The authors made an attempt to expand the area of application of such an educational tool as PRP in foreign language education and substantiate the possibility of its use for the realization of educational goals, namely, the formation of students’ axiological attitudes, which gives the research a certain scientific novelty.
