Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technologies centered on artificial intelligence (AI), coupled with the profound transformations in domestic and international teaching environments in the new era, necessitates a fundamental shift in talent cultivation paradigms and innovative approaches to foreign language teaching models. These changes are imperative to address the growing societal demand for diversified foreign language professionals in an increasingly digitalized era. Taking the innovation of foreign language teaching models as the focal point and the cultivation of diversified foreign language talents as the core objective, this study utilizes CiteSpace software to conduct a bibliometric analysis of 983 articles indexed in the Web of Science database between 2005 and 2024. By integrating the distinctive attributes of digital technologies, the research employs a mixed-methods approach (qualitative and quantitative analyses) to explore innovative path-ways in foreign language education across four key dimensions: pedagogical philosophy, teacher-student role dynamics, curricular content, and instructional methodologies. The overarching goal is to establish a digitally empowered foreign language teaching framework that not only provides theoretical and practical insights for cultivating diversified language talents, enhancing teachers' comprehensive professional competencies, and improving students' integrative language capabilities but also offers methodological guidance for constructing a new ecology of digitally integrated foreign language education.
