Development of a Self-Determined Educational Standard in Linguistics: Problems and Prospects.

Abstract

The article describes the experience of the self-determined educational standard in linguistics creation, considers the problems and prospects of its implementation. Particular attention is paid to the understanding of the new educational model of the levels of basic higher education and specialised higher education of Master's degree programmes in the field of study 45.03.02 and 45.04.02 Linguistics. It is noted that the transition to the self-determined educational standard allowed to increase the terms of study at the basic level of higher education, which gives the opportunity to expand the qualification of the graduate and improve the quality of education. The article touches upon the topic of formation of life and educational route of a student through the choice of educational tracks and modules. It also explains the principles of dividing the level of specialised higher education into applied and research master's programmes. It is emphasised that an important aspect was the continuity from the Federal State Educational Standard to the self-determined educational standard and orientation to the Professional Standard 1438 ‘Specialist in the field of translation’. The definition of qualifications and learning outcomes has become an important component in the development of the self-determined educational standard, as the Federal State Educational Standard did not take this point into account, and the qualification prescribed depended on the level of education: Bachelor or Master. An integral part of the work on the self-determined educational standard was the formulation of general professional and professional competences, as well as their indicators.
